Author Biography

Zita Skořepová

is a graduate student of ethnomusicology and anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University. She is interested in music as a part of everyday life and its relationship to the self-perception or self-identity of musicians. At present she is dealing with immigrant musicians living in the Czech Republic and their strategies of representation through musical activities. In addition to her student research, she is an active musician specializing in Hebrew and Yiddish songs.
