The task of hesitating and making decisions

Abstract

The task of hesitating and making decisions. – The focus on the first part of Ricoeur’s analysis of the temporal existence of making decisions – i.e. the essential task of hesitation – shows a relation towards some problematic phenomena of contemporary culture. Besides that, in relation to Ricoeur’s referral to the poetic dimension (the “poetics” of being; a “poetics” will the being) an eventual dialogue with the thinking of Maurice Blanchot on voting and the exhausting privilege/right not to vote is suggested.
