Abstract

Contribution of Religious Element to Education according to A. N. Whitehead. – The objective of this article is to present that Whitehead had a very important philosophy of education – Whitehead’s candid view of education as religious. Whitehead’s philosophy of education is fully coherent with his metaphysical view. The aim of this study is to present how this religion and metaphysics contribute to an educational perspective. In his philosophy we find the importance of experience, imagination, speculation, generalization, but also practice, pleasure, harmony together with technical and liberal education and unification. He, in fact, unifies all these seemingly different areas into a coherent philosophy of education. His view is common to the most of contemporary thesis on behalf of theory of education.
