Abstract

Aleš Prázný, Věra Schifferová (eds.): Concept of the World in the Comenius’s Work. – The collective volume compiles texts from two Comenius symposiums at University of Pardubice in 2004 and 2008. The book is dedicated to Czech philosopher of education Jaroslava Pešková. The Czech philosopher of education and theologian Comenius believed that learning should not focus on words and particular things or objects, but every child and every man should consider the whole created World. Individual texts treat problems like Comenius’s concept of the world, his picture of a man as a God’s creation, his chiliasm, latin, Comenius as a preacher etc. The authors often continue tradition of Jan Patočka’s phenomenology approach to Comenius studies.
