Janusz Korczak and the Right of a Child for Respect. – Janusz Korczak was at the beginning of the 20th century requesting the right of respect for children. He raised this issue as a humanist and specialized pedagogical advisor at a court for under aged. Today there are many different laws, declarations and pedagogical and psychological institutions protecting children, but we still remain silent when facing the core sense of dignity and the right for respect of a child. Korczak reminded us of a child’s human dignity. When humiliating a child, we humiliate not only this child, standing in front of us, but we humiliate a human as a human. When offending a child, we offend a dignity of a human which should be regarded as almost holy and untouchable.
