Augustine and his practical advices on education and teaching. – Based on De doctrina christiana, Augustine is presented as a teacher, an educator of other educators and teachers, namely speakers in the Church in his time. The paper starts with the question of whether Augustine’s distinction between enjoyment and utility and Augustine’s principles of exegetical work and preaching can be inspirational for educators today. The text aims to show Augustine’s conception of the education of fundamental values and thus present suggestions for educators.
Zuzana Svobodová

On the problem of time in (the thought of) J. A. Comenius. – Johann Amos Comenius was a complex thinker and as such he was also attempting to deal with the question of the problem of time. Comenius’s understanding of the problem of time is possible to comprehend (similarly to other parts of his work) in three perspectives. This paper attempts to briefly outline this trio of perspectives and grasp it within the horizon of the Comenius’s thought. Concurrently, this paper attempts to open another perspective for further development of the problem and its consideration, and outcomes for human beings. These perspectives might serve today’s human as an inspiration in the wandering through the labyrinth of plurality and vanity of nowadays’ world.
Michal Zlatoš

https://ojs.cuni.cz/paideia/article/view/4642

Autistic traits from a hermeneutic position I. – The current biological-reductive naming of autism as a pervasive developmental disorder contributes to the stigmatizing perception of autism. Last but not least, it can complicate the path to a positive identity for people with autism, as more people with ASD tend to take language literally. The article searches for the cause of this way of perceiving the neurodiversity of a person, looking for ways to better acceptance and self-acceptance of people with ASD. Autistic spectrum disorders require a holistic hermeneutic approach. People with this nature enrich society, at the same time, misunderstanding these differences can lead to unnecessary traumatization or contribute to the development of perverse variants of autism. Latent, less pronounced, but all the more numerous in society, autistic traits that more people show also deserve attention. Some philosophers describe the symptoms of autistic traits, point out the difference in the overall structure of such a form of humanity and come to terms with it, even if they name the given phenomenon in a different way.
Adéla Dluhošová
