Abstract

The logos as a path towards oneself and others: learning through dialogue. – The two types of growing mediation are typical for our times: our contact with the first nature is increasingly mediated through the second, the human nature that comprises of (among others) cultural symbols; these symbols are increasingly mediated by information and communication technologies. Both processes influence and enhance each other, thus making superficial social communication easy. If the logos is perceived as a way leading to the meaning in human life, we can support it by teaching our students certain practices of performing a mindful and attentive dialogue. I explain a specific educational method of that sort. I analyze the Jakobsonian presuppositions of the method as well as pedagogical, educational and human implications of applying it in educational settings.
