Abstract

To live without Christ or to die with Christ? The dilemma of the contemporary Christian. – This article presents an interpretation of Jesus’s paradoxical statement in L 17,33. The aim is to free this statement from the darkness of the original biblical texts and place it into the context of historical, religious, existential and psychoanalytical research. This topic is then presented against the background of the contemporary state of Czech society and Czech Christianity in its ecclesiastical form.
