Abstract

Husserl, Lévinas and Patočka: To critique the concept of the other as an alter ego. – For Husserl is the other my alter ego. But it is a question, whether there may be any “alien” at Husserl phenomenology, whether it is rather unthinkable. For Patočka we will not find a more specific role of the other. Lévinas, on the contrary by examining the phenomenon of the face, is heading to the core of this problem.
