Abstract

Notes on philosophy of education. – The purpose of this article is to present to the readers the concept of education as a means of directing oneself towards truth and as a path to authentic life. The knowledge that one acquires through education does not have factual or exactly definable scientific characteristics, as it is rather a possibility of different apprehension of the world or different way of its experiencing than what is originally set by custom. However, such different viewing of the world must according to Plato happen in the real world. Apart from Plato, we also base this paper on the philosophy of education of Jan Patočka and Radim Palouš.
