Abstract

The Beginnings of Operation of Department of the Ministry of Education and National Enlightenment of the Czechoslovak Republic. – The formation of Czechoslovak republic presented historical turn in modern history of Slovak and Czech nations. This act was particularly significant for Slovaks. It interrupted programmatic magyarization of Slovakia and there were gradually made conditions for building the Slovak administration, education, culture and national life. This article is about the beginning of Ministry of education department and national enlightenmnent of Czechoslovak republic. It analyse the first steps of it’s activities which were connected with the process of unification and reorganization of school system, with securing the education conditions in Slovakia in personal, material and organizational aspect. Categorical imperative was eliminating illiteracy, slovakization of education and taking over the school administration in Czechoslovakian spirit.
