Abstract

Contexts of Philosophy of Education in Historical and Contemporary Perspective – conference report. – Castle Smolenice near Trnava hosted on 28th and 29th October 2010 an international conference Contexts of philosophy of education in historical and contemporary perspective. Participants of the conference stated a mutual propinquity of themes and ideas and common needs and challenges on the boundary of philosophy and pedagogy. They agreed on a common program: to search possibilities in communicating comprehensively philosophy of education to students. As a necessity was highlighted a foundation of a Central European platform of philosophy of education with shared research, projects, conferences, internships and pedagogues exchange. The conference was organized by Department of Educational Studies, Faculty of Education of Trnava University in Trnava to commemorate 375th foundation jubilee of former Universitas Tyrnaviensis. The event was co-organized by Towarzystwo Pedagogiki Filozoficznej (Poland) and Social Sciences and Philosophy Department of Faculty of Education at Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic).
