Working Class Families in Prague 1918–1938. – The article deals with the working class families in Prague between the world wars. The author analyses the ways of looking for the partners and the role of the symbolical capital in the working class milieu. The partner choice was reproducing the social inequalities but was in some cases a chance for a social mobility. The article describes than the wedding, divorce, the families with one parent missing and the strategies to solve such situations. Finally the article analyses the size of working-class families, the relations of nuclear families to its relatives, gender relationships and children upbringing with the particular attention to the role of children punishment.
