Abstrakt

This editorial introduces the thematic focus of the journal issue on supporting individuals in education as a multidimensional and continuous process spanning all levels of the educational system. Educational support is conceptualized not merely as a response to individual difficulties, but as an integral component of high-quality education that fosters personal development, academic success, wellbeing, and social participation. The contributions in this issue collectively demonstrate that effective support requires coordination between systemic structures, institutional frameworks, and individualized approaches.

The issue presents historical, empirical, review, and methodological studies that address educational support from diverse perspectives. Topics include the historical development of counselling systems, the contemporary transformation of university counselling services, the role of academic self-efficacy in students with psychological or chronic health difficulties, the relationship between health literacy and preventive attitudes, the integration of support-oriented courses into higher education curricula, and the use of mobile technologies to enhance early reading literacy. Across these contributions, educational support emerges as a dynamic interplay between individual needs and systemic responsibility.

The collected studies highlight the importance of preventive, interdisciplinary, and institutionally embedded approaches that strengthen student competencies, resilience, and autonomy. Together, they underline that educational institutions play a crucial role not only in delivering knowledge but also in creating supportive environments that enable individuals to realize their potential across educational trajectories.
