1/2024 The Role of Teachers in Developing Digital Competencies
Abstract
The theme of this issue was focused on the role of the teacher in developing digital competences at all levels of education (from pre-primary to tertiary). A topic that had resonated in recent years in educational practice and across all educational institutions and fields was the development of pupils’ and students’ digital literacy. This was also caused by the fact that a new key competence – the digital competence – had been incorporated into curricular documents. For teachers of any subject or field and at any level of education, this brought both the opportunity and the necessity for changes in teaching and preparation, the monitoring of technological trends, and it could also have led to changes in the very content of education. All of this was related to the need to support teachers at various levels (from school to state level).
