The article presents a case study of a student at the Faculty of Education, Charles University, with a severe visual impairment (practical blindness). The study demonstrates how the legal framework, university guidelines, and a system of support measures enable the implementation of inclusive higher education. It describes the use of assistive technologies, functional assessment, and a support network (Academic Counselling Centre, Carolina Centre, peers, and student research assistants), as well as the limitations related to the consistency and quality of study assistance. The study confi rms that with appropriate support measures, it is possible to successfully complete demanding fi elds of study despite a severe visual impairment.
