The journal Pedagogika is preparing a special issue for 2024 on the topic "From School Quality to System Quality"
It has been 35 years since the possibility of free exchange of ideas, including in the field of pedagogy, was introduced in our country, and 20 years since the adoption of the Education Act, which legitimized a number of innovations in school management and the education system. What was once considered innovative has now become a standard practice. There was also a period of increased interest in supporting innovations from foundations established by private entities (People in Need, the Kellner Family Foundation, the Česká spořitelna Foundation, the Karel Janeček Foundation, and others). Some of the new activities have undergone or are undergoing evaluation processes. The goal of the upcoming issue of Pedagogika is to document both successes and challenges, and to identify the conditions essential for successful implementations, so that the broader community concerned with education in our country can benefit.
We welcome the following contributions:
- Historical studies analyzing the continuity or discontinuity of selected innovations.
- Review studies systematically capturing evaluations of specific innovations in various educational systems.
- Research studies providing evaluative evidence of implemented development activities.
- Discussion papers on the aforementioned topics.
- Reviews of inspiring publications.
- Brief analytical reports from evaluation studies, including references to more comprehensive versions where applicable.
The guest editors of this special issue will be Assoc. Prof. Martin Chvál, Ph.D., and Assoc. Prof. Dana Kasperová, Ph.D.
