Discussion
The journal Pedagogika accepts discussion contributions on important and topical questions. Discussion contributions may relate to a specialist theme, to the theme of educational policy or to an important event in the specialist community. Contributions should be analytical in character, reflect a deep knowledge of the subject concerned with mention of relevant sources, and express the standpoint of the author. In cases where the journal in view of the chosen theme and character of the contribution considers it appropriate, the journal will approach an author (or authors) with different views of the subject and ask him/her to offer his/her/their own contribution. In such cases the first author will be given an opportunity to respond to these contributions. The aim of the discussion forum is to encourage communication inside the professional commity on basic questions of upbringing, education and the school system with an emphasis on the formulation of carefully argued positions.
A discussion contribution may be up to 10 standard pages in length (18 000 characters including gaps).
The views of the authors of discussion contruibutions need not correspond to the views of the editorial staff of the journal. Discussion contributions are not reviewed, but only assessed by the editors with regard to the criteria set out above. They go through an accelerated editorial process with probable publication in the next issue of Pedagogika.
